Travel to Istanbul with Lost LeBlanc

Lost LeBlanc travels to Istanbul with friends, including Lexie Alford, who holds 2 Guinness World Records as the youngest person and the youngest female to travel to all sovereign countries. This article is based on what they experienced and shared in the video.

Trying Baklava and Turkish Coffee

At Hafiz Mustafa, a famous sweet shop, Lost LeBlanc, Lexie, and their friends tasted traditional baklava with Turkish coffee. While Lost LeBlanc found baklava was not his favorite, his friends enjoyed it very much.

Tasting Turkish Ice Cream

After baklava, they tried the famous Turkish ice cream. Known for its thick and stretchy texture, the ice cream is a popular street snack in Istanbul. The group shared their reactions and enjoyed the sweet treat as they explored the city.

Exploring the Grand Bazaar

They visited the Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest shopping malls in the world. The group explored shops selling spices, Turkish delights, jewelry, and local goods. They met friendly local Ahmed, who offered them various Turkish delight samples.

Shopping and Fortune Reading

Lost LeBlanc bought silver jewelry and tried to bargain. They also stopped at a historic coffee shop where a local explained how to read fortunes from Turkish coffee cups by looking at the patterns formed after drinking.

Seeing European and Asian Istanbul

The group visited the Galata Tower on the European side and then crossed to the Asian side. They enjoyed the Asian side’s more affordable and hipster atmosphere with trendy cafés and breweries.

Forno Balat and Famous Lahmacun

The group visited Forno Balat, a cozy restaurant known for its delicious lahmacun, pide, and pizza. Upon entering, they admired the charming wall design. They ordered all the dishes that Forno Balat is famous for. Everyone, including Lexie, gave thumbs up to the lahmacun and pide, enjoying the taste and quality of the food.

Visiting the Balat Neighborhood

Lost LeBlanc and friends explored the colorful Balat neighborhood. Walking through its streets, they saw local life up close and even witnessed a cat fighting another on the road, adding to the lively local atmosphere.
